TRANSLATION

This is a Vector Tutorial. Medium.

Open up a new Image 300 x 200.

This Tutorial was written in PSP 9. Can be done in 7 or 8.

1. The Pencil. Set Your Background to #F49A27. Make your Foreground Null. Using the Preset Shapes Tool/Rounded Rectange. Vector Checked! Draw a Rectangle 240 x 22. Watch your Status bar at the bottom. Go to Objects/Align/Center of Canvas. Leave In vector form for now.

Step 1

2. Go to the Background Layer. Using the Pen tool, Foreground Color #606060, Line width 5. Using the Line Segment. Vector Checked! Background Color NULL. Draw a small line for the Led. Convert to Raster. mine was about 10. If you make it to long you can always pull it in under the pencil further.

3. Go back to the Pencil Layer. Using the Pen tool, Pull the 2 end nodes In to meet the Led. See Below. Convert to Raster when happy with it. Go to Selections/Select All/Selections/Float. Then Go to Selections/Load Save Selections/Save to Alpha Channel. You dont need to name it unless you want to.

4. Make your Foreground Color #C6700A. Rounded Rectangle, Width 1. Background Null. Draw a Rectangle the length of the Pencil and in the center. Convert to Raster. Lower the Opacity to 24 on this layer.
Using your Magic wand. Select the Center of it. Add a New Layer. Change your Foreground to #FFFFFF Change the Flood fill Tool to Opacity 10 and Flood Fill. Remember to change the Opacity back on the Flood fill tool to 100 for the next use. Close the Led layer and Merge only the Pencil Layers.

5. Add a New Layer Named Tip. Using the Selection Tool Rectangle, Go Back to the Pencil layer. Make a Selection at the Tip around 21 x 26. Go to Selections/Float. Then Click on the tip Layer and Flood fill with #B7A581. Keep Selected, Add a New Layer. Using the Airbrush with the following settings, And Color #D2CABA. Just click 1 time:

Hardness: 0
Step: 26
Density: 50
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 96

Go to Adjust/Blur/Motion Blur put and Angle of 274, Strength 10, and apply. Merge the Tip Layers Only. Then Load the Pencil Selection you saved to the Alpha Channel. Go to Selections/Invert and Hit Delete about 3 or 4 times to get rid of any of the Pencil color that is there. Right Click and Choose Merge Down.

Step 5

6. Add a New Layer called Metal. Go back to the Pencil Layer. Using the Selection Tool/Rectangle, make a Selection at the other end about 19 x 26. Go to Selection/Float. Go back to the Metal layer. Go to Selections/Modify/Expand. Put in a 1 and Apply. Flood fill with the Silver Gradient that comes with PSP, Angle 0. Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds and apply with the following Settings:
Width: 3
Opacity: 57
Color: #808080
Light from the Top Only checked.

Step 6

7. Go back to the Background Layer. Make your Background Color #CE353E, Foreground Null. Using the Preset Shapes Tool/Rounded Rectangle. Draw a Small Rectangle for the eraser 17 X 20. Go to Selections/Select All/Selections/Float. Then go to Effects/3D Effects/Cutout apply with the following settings:
Vertical & Horizontal: 0
Opacity: 100
Blur: 10
Shadow Color: #9F2D21

You can Duplicate the Pencil Layer and Colorize it.

Your Done! Save as a PSP file.
