This is a Vector Tutorial. Easy.
Open up a new Image 300 x 300.
This Tutorial was written in PSP 9. Can be done in 7 or 8.
1. Add A new Vector Layer named Cutain Rod. Set Your Background color to a Silver Gradient Angle 0 Repeats 0. Make your Foreground Null. Using the Preset Shapes Tool/Rectangle. Vector Checked! Draw a Rectangle 205 x 12. Watch your Status bar at the bottom. Convert to Raster.
2. Using the Preset Shapes Tool, Tear Drop Shape. Draw a Tear Drop 15 x 27. Drag this Layer under the Curtian Rod layer. And rotate as you need to fit the rod. Expand the Vector layer by Clicking on the + sign. Then Double Click on the Tear Drop shape to pull up the properties. Make sure the Gradient is at Angle 0 and repeats 0. (PSP rotate it when I rotated it) Convert this layer to Raster. Right click on this Layer and Choose Duplicate. Then go to Image Mirror. Use your mover tool to place at the other end. Merge Verge Visible these layers. Right Click again and Choose Duplicate and move to the top.
3. Change your Background to a color you want for your Curtian. I used #E9DDCD. Using the Preset Shapes Tool/Rectangle Draw a Rectangle 198 x 110. Using the Pen Tool, hold down the CTRL key and add seven nodes at the bottom. Hold down the Shift key and select all the nodes at the bottom. Right click and Choose Node Type/Symmetric. Click anywhere on the canvas to deselet the Nodes. Push every other one up. And Adjust the ends ones to your liking.
Duplicate this layer in VECTOR form and Move to the top.
Close the layer for now by clicking on the eye. Go back to the Original Layer and convert to Raster.
4. Go to Selections/Select All/Selections/Float. Add a New Layer. We are going to make the Pleats. Choose a Lighter color than your Curtain Shade for the Background, I used #F9F0E5. Choose a Darker color for the Foreground. I used #C8A780. Using the Airbrush Tool with the following settings:
Size: 35
Hardness: 7
Step: 24
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 24
Shade down with the Foreground and back up with the Background.
5. Go to the Copy of the Curtain and Click on the Eye to Open it back up. Expand the Layer by Clicking on the + sign. Then Click on the Rectangle Layer. Then Click on the Preset Shapes Tool. Just push the Bottom up so that it is Shorter. Convert to Raster.
Repeat the Shading to make the Pleats.
Your Done! Save as a PSP file.
